Born: Paisley, Scotland 1956.

Convery's first solo exhibition was at the Mercury Gallery, Edinburgh/London in 1985. Since then, his work has been exhibited widely in major national and international Galleries including: The Akademie Der Bildenden Kunste, Munich, Germany (1984), The Edinburgh International Festival, ECA (1985 & 91), The Fruitmarket Gallery, Edinburgh (1988), The Scottish Gallery, Edinburgh (1991 & 95), The Hunterian Museum, Glasgow (1997), Newport Museum & Art Galleries, Wales (1998), Edinburgh City Art Centre (1997/98), The Royal College of Art, London (1996), Hunter College, New York (2003). A selective retrospective exhibition ‘Noesis’, Grays School of Art, Aberdeen (2011), marked the end of his 14 years, as ‘Head of Painting’, at the prestigious Scottish Art School.
